The Opportunity...

As a Senior Competitive Marketing Manager, you will help lead the development and execution of competitive marketing strategies that align with product development and sales initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and sales, to develop and deliver compelling competitive differentiators, technical content, and product demonstrations that showcase the unique value propositions of the company's offerings. Your goal is to bridge the gap between technical product features and customer needs, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Senior Competitive Marketing Managers are expected to understand and communicate complex cybersecurity concepts serving as an evangelist for the company's products, promoting them to different stakeholders, potential clients, and partners. You will also be expected to provide guidance on best practices and demonstrate how our offerings deliver industry leading cyber resiliency for critical workloads.  Your role will be critical in linking competitive and technical aspects to business needs, driving sales and customer satisfaction. 

  

What you'll do...

  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors, market trends, and industry shifts to provide strategic insights that will influence product marketing and go-to-market strategies.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor the competitive landscape, including competitor products, pricing, marketing tactics, and positioning, to identify threats and opportunities.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Translate competitive intelligence into clear, actionable recommendations for product development, marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and executive leadership.
  • Positioning & Differentiation: Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to develop messaging and positioning that highlights our unique value propositions and differentiates our offerings in the market.
  • Sales Enablement: Provide competitive insights, battlecards, and training to enable the sales team to effectively communicate our value versus competitors.
  • Product Launch Support: Work closely with product marketing and management teams to develop competitive strategies for product launches, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay current with industry trends and provide thought leadership on competitive marketing strategies to internal teams and external audiences when necessary.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across product, marketing, and sales to align competitive strategies and ensure cohesive execution across the business.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and report on key metrics related to competitive positioning, market share, and the success of competitive marketing efforts. 

 

Who you are...

  • 12+ years of experience in competitive marketing, product marketing, or market intelligence within the tech industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of driving competitive analysis, market positioning, and go-to-market strategies in a B2B or B2C environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in tools for competitive analysis, market research, and marketing intelligence.
  • Experience in enabling sales teams through competitive insights and battlecards.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think both creatively and analytically.
  • [Bachelor’s degree or higher] in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  

Bonus Qualifications: 

  • CISSP, CISM, or similar certification. 
  • Experience in Commvault or another backup technology. 
  • Previous experience in a competitive marketing role or a similar deep technical experience involving technical sales support.
  • Experience in navigating complex enterprise environments and liaising with various stakeholders

US Pay Range$139,400—$264,500 USD
