Senior Database Engineer

Job Description

NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire a Database Engineer to support a Federal agency.

This role is located 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX.

Candidates must be eligible for a Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, test, upgrade, and integrate new or existing database management systems to meet organizational requirements.
• Document the engineering process, including build and configuration, testing, and deployment of database systems and Coordinate implementation of new database platforms, system upgrades, or version changes with database administrators and stakeholders.
• Plan and implement security measures to safeguard database systems and hosted databases and Perform database modeling, analysis, and planning to meet operational needs and Evaluate new database technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.
• Assist in complex troubleshooting issues, collaborating with vendors as necessary.
• Plan, design, develop, and modify databases structures, and database administration tools using products and programming languages such as PLISQL, Visual Basic, T-SQL or ORACLE Forms.
• Provide technical guidance and support to eMSM Offices, MTFs, BOD, and MCSCs to identify opportunities for enhancing direct care, network capability, and reducing private sector healthcare costs.
• Develop and maintain database structures, such as tables, naming conventions, data dictionaries, and relationships.
• Create and maintain a library of codes and standard operating procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Develop/maintain business case analysis tools to coordinate standardization of data collection/analysis and Investigate, analyze, and resolve user problems and questions, leveraging advanced technical skills and expertise.
• Conduct data quality activities, including monitoring, integration, synchronization, and impact assessments and Collaborate with system administrators to install, configure, and optimize database engines and tools.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• A minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in database engineering or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalency.
• Candidates must be eligible for a Secret Clearance.
• IAT II certification [(CCNA-Security), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)] as per DoD 8570.01-M requirements.
• CE: Professional level certification.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

• Expertise in PL/SQL, Visual Basic, T-SQL, or Oracle Forms for database design and development.
• Experience with federal data quality standards and processes.
• Additional professional certifications in database management or related fields.
• Previous Federal Consulting Experience.
