Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and respond to security events and alerts from Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure Sentinel, and related tools using ServiceNow.
• Configure and maintain security baselines for laptops and endpoints in accordance with compliance requirements.
• Assist with vulnerability management, risk assessments, and POA&M tracking/remediation.
• Perform security-related tasks in the IT onboarding/offboarding process (e.g., access provisioning, de-provisioning).
• Manage Azure Active Directory accounts, roles, group memberships, Conditional Access policies, and MFA settings.
• Assist with maintaining documentation for policies, procedures, and security standards.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis; escalate as needed to appropriate teams.
• Provide frontline IT support, triage tickets, and coordinate resolution with subject matter experts.
• Patch and maintain systems; optimize laptop, endpoint, and user experience security posture.
• Maintain inventory and asset tracking; generate reports for compliance and audit needs.
• Support internal IT projects and changes related to Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and endpoint security.
• Collaborate with other IT and Security team members to identify and implement process improvements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• U.S. Citizen
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• 1+ year experience in IT or Cybersecurity support role.
• Foundational knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure Security: Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel, Conditional Access, Intune, Azure AD, and Exchange Online.
• Familiarity with KQL (Kusto Query Language) and security event investigation techniques.
• Ability to support end-user access, permissions, and account management in Azure AD.
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong task management and ticketing system proficiency (familiar with ServiceNow or other ITSM system).
