SUMMARY OF THE JOB 

The Head of Security Operations is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the implementation of security policies and frameworks across regions (AMEA, Europe, LATAM), driving performance improvements, and fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the organization. This position ensures the protection of Holcim’s employees, assets, ecosystem, and reputation against security risks, including criminal and malicious acts. The Head of Security Operations will play a key role in crisis management and global security incident response, supporting Holcim’s goal to be a leader in safety, resilience, and security within the building materials industry.

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Strategy Execution:

  • Lead the Security regional team and ensure alignment with Holcim’s Security & Resilience framework and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation, standardization, and continuous improvement of security operations across the three regions: AMEA, Europe, and LATAM.
  • Provide expert guidance to the business in the proactive management of security risks, ensuring the protection of people, assets, and reputation.
  • Develop, deliver, and sustain training and awareness programs to embed a culture of security and resilience across Holcim.
  • Maintain global situational awareness, including internal and external risk assessments, to inform business decision-making.

Security Framework Governance and Performance Management:

  • Drive the consistent application of Holcim’s Security & Resilience policy and framework across all regions.
  • Manage regional security operations to ensure they are aligned with corporate standards and respond effectively to security incidents.
  • Lead the monitoring and reporting of security incidents, KPIs, and risk issues to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Establish corrective actions for performance gaps and ensure the implementation of improvement plans.
  • Advise senior leadership and country teams on security strategy, response plans, and risk management initiatives.

Crisis Management and Incident Response:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in responding to complex, global security incidents and crises.
  • Lead or coordinate Group crisis management teams and execute first-response measures during critical security events.
  • Maintain and enhance Holcim’s global security crisis protocols, including travel restrictions, site protection measures, and communication frameworks.
  • Actively engage with public authorities, private sector partners, and external stakeholders during crises to ensure coordinated response efforts.

External Relations and Security Partnerships:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with governments, authorities, international agencies, and private security providers.
  • Represent Holcim in security-related matters with external parties, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements

 

PROFILE REQUIRED 

Level of education/qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Security Risk Management, International Relations, or related field.
  • Military or law enforcement experience is a plus 
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) is a plus

Specific work experience: 

  • At least 10-15 years of experience in senior management roles within security, focusing on the protection of assets and crisis management.
  • Proven experience in the manufacturing, industrial, or construction sectors is preferred.
  • Strong background in international security management with exposure to both public and private sectors.
  • Experience working in a global, complex organizational structure, dealing with multi-national risks and operations.
  • Expertise in global security frameworks, risk management, and incident response strategies.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies, including threat detection, and crisis communication tools.

  • Ability to build a resilient security culture and influence key stakeholders to act on security priorities.


Language skills: 
Fluent in English (essential); proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.


Mobility requirements:
International travel is required (approx. 30%) for regional and global security coordination, crisis management, and stakeholder engagements
