Join Our Team as a Waste Incident Responder (Tanker Driver)!

 

In this role, you’ll drive up to 44T vacuum tankers to collect and deliver liquid biosolids and other waste products within the Severn Trent network. You’ll also perform jetting and cleansing tasks.

 

As a first responder to pollution incidents, you’ll be the first on the scene to stop pollutions or hold them until the issue is fixed. When there are no incidents, you’ll use your experience to carry out planned maintenance at sewage treatment sites to ensure they are kept up to standard and working efficiently.

 

Shift hours are as follows:

4 on / 4 off      0500 – 1600 / 1300 – Midnight / 2100 – 0800

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, including drivers’ hours, working time directive, and vehicle roadworthiness.
  • Complete daily work instructions from the Planning Office or Line Manager.
  • Communicate timely and accurately with all stakeholders to keep everyone updated.
  • Use STW IT systems for tanker load information, safety systems, e-learning, and working hours entry.
  • Report any site or equipment issues to your Line Manager for resolution.
  • Identify and highlight efficiency opportunities to reduce overall costs for Severn Trent. 
  • Can be expected to work alone or as part of a team
  • Supporting with capturing pollution impact information including photographs and samples.

 

 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

 

To be successful in this role you must hold at least one of the following licenses:

 

  • Class 2 licence (C licence)
  • Class 1 licence (C + E Licence)

 

You will also ideally have knowledge of using vacuum tankers and also it would be brilliant if you have previous wastewater experience, but this is not essential.
