Security Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and enhancing our cyber security capabilities across various technical domains. This role requires a deep understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices to protect our systems and data from cyber threats.

Role Responsibilities

· Build and operationalize robust security capabilities and tools across multiple technical domains.

· Deliver an ever-evolving portfolio of cyber projects.

· Conduct security assessments, and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential threats.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the development lifecycle of applications and systems.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.

· Provide training and guidance to employees on security awareness and best practices.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· 5+ years of proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role.

· Strong knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies.

· Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint protection.

· Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

· Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly communicate and have excellent consulting skills.

· Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently, meet schedules and delivery timelines, and to move swiftly from concepts and theory to action.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar.

· Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

· Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
