About this Position / Responsibilities
NFF is currently seeking an experienced Senior Splunk Developer. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain Splunk applications, dashboards, and reports to support our data analysis needs. They will also have extensive experience in Splunk development, configuration, and administration, ensuring the platform is optimized for performance, security, and reliability. This consultant will work directly with one of our premier government customers in northern Virginia.
Requirements
- Design, develop, and implement Splunk dashboards, reports, alerts, and visualizations to support business and security operations.
- Configure and optimize Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) queries to improve search performance and efficiency.
- Develop custom Splunk applications and integrate them with external data sources as needed.
- Manage Splunk forwarders, indexers, and search heads for optimal performance
- Implement best practices for data ingestion, parsing, indexing, and storage.
- Develop and implement log management solutions to improve system monitoring and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Splunk performance issues and system errors.
- Work closely with IT, security, and business teams to understand data requirements and provide Splunk solutions.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for Splunk configurations, dashboards, and processes.
Qualifications
- 10 years of overall industry experience as a technology practitioner (in IT Operations and Security)
- 7+ years' experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) and Risk Based Alerting (RBA).
- 7+ years' of Splunk experience.
- Hold an active Splunk Core Certified Consultant.
- Hold an active Splunk Certified Architect Consultant.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience.
