About the role

The IT Security Analyst with a strong systems administration background will contribute to the alignment and standardization of our security processes and tools across North America. He will contribute to strengthening our team in charge of managing and securing our IT infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring the security of information systems by monitoring and analyzing risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Implementing, configuring, and maintaining security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud-based servers, storage, and networks.
  • Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, group policies, and access controls.
  • Work in collaboration with our various external IT security partners (EDR, MDR, Vulnerability)
  • Managing and analyzing security logs, identifying security incidents, and implementing necessary corrective actions.
  • Participating in the management of security incidents, performing post-incident analysis, and preparing follow-up reports.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to apply best practices in security.
  • Conducting security audits on existing infrastructure (servers, networks, applications) and proposing improvements.
  • Ensuring system and software updates to prevent security breaches.
  • Participate to the supervision and application of security procedures (access management, backup, disaster recovery, etc.).
  • Training and raising awareness among teams about best practices in IT security.

Qualifications and skills

  • Education: College diploma or university degree in a relevant IT security field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years minimum in system administration and cybersecurity roles in a multi-site environment. 
  • Strong expertise in operating systems (Windows, Linux) and system administration tools (shell scripting, PowerShell, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of security concepts and technologies (firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, etc.).
  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.) and monitoring tools.
  • Good understanding of vulnerability analysis tools (Qualys, Nessus, OpenVAS, etc.) and ethical hacking techniques.
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, etc.) are a plus.
  • Network switch management, an asset.
  • Ability to solve complex security issues while meeting deadlines.
  • Autonomy, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—ability to translate tech solutions into user-friendly terms. 
  • English proficiency is essential for this role and Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
