This is a part-time, hybrid Fall 2025 Digital Services internship with the Information Security Risk team. We are also open to fully virtual candidates.

We are looking for students who have Junior or Sophomore standing and do not anticipate graduating before May 2026.

Job Summary

Information Security Risk is focused on protecting Corewell Health and our patients and members' health information by implementing a robust risk management program. Through proactive and transparent risk management, we enable risk-informed decision-making, enhance resiliency, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the organization's commitment to patient care.

The Information Security Risk team is focused on risk assessments, policy exceptions and risk quantification, which requires the ability to analyze and take in information from a multitude of sources, clear communication, and strong collaboration skills.

This position will focus on risk assessment process improvement, developing and testing capabilities for embedding risk quantification in assessments, and partnering with analysts on risk assessments/policy exceptions. A candidate with a demonstrated interest in Information Security Risk and interest/experience with process improvement is ideal.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains accountability for completing support tasks as directed.
  • Maintains clear and appropriate documentation of actions taken.
  • May analyzes department processes and other Spectrum Health systems encountered and makes recommendations improvements, as appropriate. Participates in quality monitoring activities/process improvement activities.
  • Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team player with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a field related to Information Security. May also be a recent graduate from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.
  • Must be Junior or Sophomore standing and will not be graduating before May 2026.
