Slate is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space.

Who we are loking for:

As a Senior Cybersecurity Architect, you will lead enterprise-wide cybersecurity architecture assessments, vulnerability risk management, and Secure by Design (SbD) processes. You will ensure that cybersecurity principles and best practices are integrated into system architecture, vendor solutions, and technology onboarding. Collaborating with executive leadership, technical teams, and vendors, you will conduct detailed risk assessments and provide strategic security recommendations to strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture while ensuring alignment with governance frameworks such as NIST RMF, NIST CSF, ISO, and SOX.

What you get to do:

• Lead the Secure by Design (SbD) process, ensuring security requirements are embedded throughout system architecture, software development, and vendor solution onboarding.
• Conduct thorough security architecture and risk assessments of new and emerging technologies, systems, and third-party software applications.
• Oversee the enterprise-wide Vulnerability Management Program, ensuring timely identification, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Analyze third-party security documentation and assess vendor security postures, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) to track and remediate identified risks.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, development teams, and business stakeholders to design and recommend secure technical solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Serve as a key member of the incident response team, supporting investigation, risk analysis, and mitigation efforts.
• Oversee the integration and optimization of security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners) within the enterprise architecture.
• Provide cybersecurity leadership and training to technical teams and business stakeholders, increasing awareness of cybersecurity risks and secure practices.
• Deliver executive-level reporting and recommendations on architectural risks, third-party risks, and remediation progress.

What you bring to the team: 

• 8–10+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOX, and other governance and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to apply and interpret them in technical environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading Secure by Design, risk assessments, and third-party security evaluations.
• Experience integrating and overseeing security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to assess complex security risks and propose innovative solutions.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical teams, leadership, and external vendors.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructures and solutions is preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, GSEC, CEH, CSIM, CRISC, CISA) are a plus.
