The Role:
The Senior Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for designing and implementing security processes and technology that enables the business to meet objectives while managing security risks. You are the senior security subject matter expert who is anticipating and planning for emerging security risks. This role reports to the Director, Cybersecurity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems for a production environment
- Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy
- Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats
- Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge
- Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements
- Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
- Design measurable KPI/KRI to monitor effectiveness of all solutions and programs
- Subject matter expert and escalation point for high impact security events
- Mentor within broader IT, cyber and security teams.
Education/Qualifications needed:
- University degree in computer science or related engineering field
- College diploma in related cyber security studies with additional cyber security certifications
- Minimum of 5 years of direct cybersecurity experience, or 10 years blended with general IT experience
- Knowledge designing for and implementing Zero Trust principles
- Strong technical knowledge working with SIEM, antivirus, email security and EDR solutions
- Strong technical knowledge of networking, firewall, proxies
- Strong technical knowledge of Identity and Access Management along with Privileged Access Management.
- Strong knowledge of the various cybersecurity assessment frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of virtual and cloud environments
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar equivalent (CISA, CISM, GIAC, etc.)
- Penetration testing, ethical hacking, or cyber defensive certification (CEH, OSCP, GPEN, GIAC, etc.)
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse audiences – Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong leadership, project and team-building skills, including the ability to lead teams and drive projects and initiatives in multiple departments
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information security programs and technology projects
- The ability to be the enterprise security subject matter expert who can explain technical topics to those without a technical background
Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the secret status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
