About the role

This position has global security accountabilities to support the businesses to achieve their operational and commercial objectives across a complex and high security risk environment. This is a senior security management position that reports directly to the Head of CSI. The role oversees the design, implementation, and administration of appropriately scaled security programs to include security reporting, investigations, insider threat, risk intelligence, travel/event security and security training and awareness

The successful candidate will need to work with all functions and Business Units to ensure Corporate Security initiatives and service delivery is fully integrated and aligned.  Key to success will be the ability to build and manage relationships across the global business, outsource partners and external government/security community.

The role is UK based.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive physical security programs which aligns with the company's overall security strategy in line with Haleon’s risk appetite and the global security risk environment. Working through a process of risk identification, appropriate, risk-based controls and robust assurance programs.
  • Develop and lead a fit to purpose 2nd Line Physical Security Assurance process for Haleon operational sites (and relevant 3rd Party locations where Haleon owns risk) and maintain close relationship and support to the Haleon 3rd line of defence function. Responsible for developing and delivery a risk based physical penetration testing program through 3rd parties to enhance 2nd line of defence.
  • Develop and oversee the Executive and global employee travel and event protection program. Provide support and advice related to security and safety at corporate events and meetings globally for the purpose of protecting the people attending as well as protection of the company’s reputation.
  • Build and lead an effective network of external Security Points of Contacts to develop the visibility of various trends in Security and Global best practices.
  • Oversee the global standards and formats for security site assessments, including monitoring, reviewing and reporting as per agreed schedules.  Manages strategic and operational governance globally in partnership with QSC and WPS business partners. 
  • Oversee a global intelligence program utilizing third party, internal and partner intelligence resources focusing on known and potential threats to employee safety, company security, business operations, or reputational risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, and other public and private bodies that focus on threat reporting and intelligence within the company’s risk profile.
  • Develop a security awareness program within the company. Deliver a variety of awareness training & advocacy programs (Emergency Preparedness; Emergency Communications; Workplace Violence; etc.,) in collaboration with local stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Regional Security Operation Managers in delivery of various Security programs and improvement activities.
  • Provide central guidance and oversight of CSI’s global programs to ensure consistency in deployment and a mechanism to review and test effectiveness against common standards.  
  • Coordinate CSI’s strategic objectives, ensuring all operations are aligned to business strategies and priorities, the security and investigations risk and control framework, and the CSI roadmap. Deliver coordination of CSI activities enabling optimal alignment of resources to risk.
  • Lead on internal capability development initiatives.
  • Maintain key stakeholder relationships, internal and external (to include security, law enforcement, government agencies and other private sector counterparts).
  • Oversee and deliver CSI technology strategy and roadmap in close partnership with LCCS
  • Accountability for governance oversight of the Global Security Guarding Contract working closely with Regional Security Operations Managers and Group Procurement.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • Experience in security management from either a former public body (i.e. police, military) or from working within a security function in a commercial company.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and project management skills.
  • Must be highly and effectively organized.
  • Must be flexible, self-starter, team oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to assess/analyse complex business information and develop appropriate conclusions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Can function as a team leader and a team member
