As part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance, we are seeking a Security Compliance & Governance Specialist to join our Security Strategy and Governance (SS&G) team. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure that nbn’s security compliance program aligns with regulatory requirements and business needs, while helping us stay ahead of ever-evolving legislation.

A bit about your role

As the Security Compliance & Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuous improvement of nbn’s security compliance program, specifically focused on our security legislative and regulatory obligations. You will ensure our compliance efforts meet government and industry expectations, particularly in critical infrastructure. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you’ll provide professional guidance, design compliance frameworks, and ensure that the entire organisation is prepared and compliant with relevant legislation, including the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) and Telecommunications Sector Security Reforms (TSSR).

You will also be tasked with overseeing performance metrics to monitor and measure the effectiveness of nbn’s security compliance program. Your role is critical to ensuring that nbn operates within the regulatory landscape while contributing to our broader security strategy.

We’re looking for someone who has a strong background in security compliance and governance, with deep knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly around critical infrastructure. You should be skilled at working across multiple teams and stakeholders, providing expert advice, and driving the development of robust compliance programs. You must be able to communicate complex compliance issues in clear, actionable terms and be comfortable managing cross-functional issues. Your leadership and organisational skills will be key in ensuring consistent, high-calibre results.
