2025 Cybersecurity Summer Internship

Are you a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field? Are you passionate about protecting systems and data from cyber threats and eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world environment? If so, we invite you to apply for our Cybersecurity College Internship! Candidates MUST be willing to be on site during their internship (June 2 - August 15) at our Herndon, VA office. 

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop valuable skills that will set you up for success in your future career.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with vulnerability scanning and reporting using industry-standard tools.
• Contribute to security incident response efforts, including investigation and analysis.
• Help implement and maintain security controls in accordance with industry best practices (e.g., NIST, CIS).
• Participate in security awareness training and contribute to the development of security documentation.
• Support the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
• Research and evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies.
• Assist with the configuration and maintenance of security tools and systems.
• Contribute to DevSecOps initiatives by integrating security practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Shadow experienced team members to learn about various cybersecurity roles and responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned to support the cybersecurity team.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and security principles.
• Familiarity with common security tools and techniques (e.g., vulnerability scanners, firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn new technologies.

Bonus Points (Not Required):

• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO).
• Relevant coursework or certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+).
