Overview
Under general supervision, the IT Security Analyst I performs two core functions for Ferrellgas: supporting day-to-day operations of in-place security solutions and identifying, investigating, and resolving security incidents detected by these systems. Additional tasks include implementing new security solutions and conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. The IT Security Analyst I is expected to be aware of the enterprise security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines, and to actively work towards upholding these goals.

Responsibilities
- Assists in planning and designing enterprise security architecture and creating security documents.
- Participates in risk assessments and helps identify potential security threats.
- Remains updated on security industry standards and recommends new solutions.
- Helps deploy and configure new security tools.
- Collaborates with IT and business teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all systems.
- Maintains secure configurations for all devices.
- Monitors security tools and reviews logs for any issues.
- Responds to security incidents and provides detailed reports for incidents.
- Conducts regular vulnerability testing and provides recommendations for remediation.
- Assists in developing and conducting security training for employees.
- Provides support on audit and compliance checks to ensue adherence to security policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Security, or IT preferred.
- Entry level experience in network engineering and/or an IT-security-based role.
- One or more of the following certifications preferred: CompTIA Security+, GIAC Information Security Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security, Associate of (ISC)2, and/or CISSP
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to research security issues and recommend solutions.
- Detail-oriented, motivated, and a self-starter.
- Team player with experience in scanning/remediation tools and SIEM.
- Familiarity with NIST framework, firewalls, intrusion detection, antivirus, and data encryption.
- Knowledge of network/OC operating systems, TCP/IP, and data privacy laws.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
