General Description

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Governance manager role will lead a team that will support and enhance the Identity Governance Administration (IGA) solution, will provide guidance and lead initiatives necessary to formalize and implement procedures for role-based access control (RBAC), user access review certifications, high quality of audit evidence, and all areas within IAM and PAM to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. Responsibilities will also include maintenance and enhancement of formal procedures in the governance area to ensure repeatable processes to prevent gaps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the operations and enhancements of Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes using Saviynt, the enterprise Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) tool.

Responsible for IAM technology SDLC: design, development, testing and production operations.

Develop and execute a plan to automate and connect applications to Saviynt.

Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of role-based access control (RBAC).

Lead the operationalization and ongoing maintenance of user access review certification campaigns.

Provides management with IAM performance metrics to demonstrate program effectiveness.

Develop and maintain training materials and applications related to identity and access management.

Respond to audit findings, implement remediation measures for compliance.

Implement IAM strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and security requirements.

Monitor best practices for IAM to ensure alignment with internal business goals and security requirements, and compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., FRB, NYDFS, GDPR, NIST).

Develop remediation strategies to mitigate risks associated with user access to company assets, including the principle of least privilege.

Propose changes to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and security workflows.

Oversee the maintenance of written documentation related to identity and access management.

Escalates and resolves issues in a timely manner.

Proactively aware of IAM best practices, innovative technical solutions, and threats facing the organization.

Works with the leadership team to help develop a security program and security projects that address risks and business requirements.

Supports Senior leadership to develop budget projections based on short- and long-term goals and objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This role will lead a team of individuals. The manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Coach and develop employees. Foster a spirit of teamwork allows for disagreement over ideas as well as diversity.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.

Experience

A combination of 5+ years of experience in IAM Cyber Governance within the financial industry and supervisory experience. 

Certifications / Licenses

Certifications are highly desirable but not required.

  • Strong technical acumen: knowledge of Cybersecurity, Information Security, and Information Technology concepts. Ability to write technical instructions using programs and technology. Robust knowledge of applicable local and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Analyze, design, and implement IAMC initiatives to define controls and identity access management program strategy. Compliance driven – ability to balance the needs of the division against stated privacy requirements and controls.
  • Analytical skills: Stays focused on main issues, prevents irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with timely completion of assignments.  Collects, research and complements data; Synthesizes complex or diverse information.  Demonstrates attention to detail; Applies design principles; Generate creative solutions.  Strong quantitative, research and analytical skills.  Experience with data analysis, persuasive and informative writing, workload management, and process management.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (cont.)

  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions.
  • Project Management: Ability to prioritize and work with multiple projects and tasks with minimum supervision; self-direct and task switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly. Capacity to achieve results according to plan ensuring the expected quality. Excellent organization capacity to define priorities, meet deadlines, and flexible to change.  Knowledge of project coordination, identification of business needs, work plan, budget control, time management, resource allocation, team management and status reports.  Must demonstrate leadership, logic, and reasoning skills. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
  • Communication skills: effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to foster trusting relationships with colleagues and clients.  Highly develop written and verbal communications skills in English.  Presents numerical data effectively. Superior communication and interpersonal skills.  Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.  Polished in preparing presentations, executive summaries, and business reports in English for executive audiences.
  • Operational/Regulations Processes: Knowledge of budget administration, resources allocation, organization’s policies, and regulations. Ability to establish, conduct and track operational processes properly.
  • Computer and Technological skills: proficient in MS Office 365 and Saviynt, SailPoint or other software’s. Ability to achieve results by providing innovative ways of working with operational and technological considerations.  Familiarity with Information Security Systems, such as Active Directory, are a plus.
