Senior Platform Engineer (Network Engineering)

Our team are responsible for delivering leading network services used by CBA teams to achieve business outcomes.  We are responsible for remote access services, proxy services, the entire CBA branch & corporate network environment covering Australia and its international office locations in addition to executing a SDWAN program to enrich the network experiences of CBA employees.

You will be executing and supporting the Global Technology Services business unit with design, engineering and implementation of network security and connectivity, to provide business value across multiple programmes and initiatives. You will also be supporting the implementation of changes outside of regular business hours on a rotation basis and as required to support project initiatives and resolve network incidents.

This is a hybrid role and the team usually come into the office 50% of time.

• Experienced in enterprise level organisations, assist in technical consulting and advice to projects to ensure alignment to Cyber Security, Network Architecture, and operational stability.

• Have good hands-on experience configuring and supporting IT infrastructure assets (Network equipment, Servers and Cloud based SaaS) with technology in complex environment.

• Able to execute and support business unit with design, engineering and implementation of network security and connectivity, to provide business value across multiple programmes and initiatives.

• Are comfortable participating in large scale project delivery, supporting project teams by completing assign tasks.

• Have excellent communication skills in Influence and guide stakeholders to ensure that solutions are robust, secure and highly available.

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

• Experience on PALO ALTO Firewalls, and ability to design, configure security policy and next gen features. PALO Prisma Access / SASE experience is advantageous.

• Implementation of Remote Access Solutions including VPN tunnels, HIP check, URL filtering, User ID, User/Machine auth, all phases of firewall setup & configuration and analysing logs

• Experience in managing Bluecoat / Symantec Proxy, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Proxy, Connectors, App policies.

• Working knowledge in DNS, AD Group Policy and software packaging

• TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, Load balancing, Layer1-7 Networking

• Installing, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, web applications, Anti-virus products such as Microsoft Defender, McAfee and system management & monitoring tools

• Fixing user issues, undertaking security assessments & providing recommendations after researching best industry practices for system components and security changes

• Experience authoring standard operating procedure documents, Knowledge management, Problem management & Incident management.

• Working knowledge of DevSecOps, Cyber Security

• Exposure to API scripting, PowerShell scripting, Web hook integration, Ansible, Python, Net DevOps, CI/CD pipeline creation are desirable.
