How You Will Make an Impact

As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will thrive with an analytical mind and an understanding of cybersecurity methodologies. Cyber security engineer is expected to have thrive in a highly technical role, have attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on deadlines.

To ensure success, a Cyber Security Engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures using Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, GRC, and IAM. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of a cloud first technology infrastructure.

This role will be based onsite at our Headquarters in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security processes and systems for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks, with a focus on Azure security best practices.
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems, including those related to Azure services and hybrid environments.
  • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches, including Azure-specific incidents.
  • Ensuring that the organization's data and hybrid infrastructure (cloud and on-premises) are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls, including Azure-specific security services.  
  • Participating in the change management process, ensuring security considerations are integrated into all changes, especially those affecting Azure resources.
  • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities, including those specific to Azure services; as well as patching and mitigation.
  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
  • Configure and manage Azure security services such as Azure Security Center/Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) security features.
  • Conducting application security assessments and providing guidance on secure coding practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
  • Experience with Firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Azure and O365 security, and Endpoint Security.
  • Experienced in implementing and managing tools such as Dragos, Darktrace and Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Experienced in both OT and IT security needs and protocols.  
  • Awareness of cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure trends and hacking techniques, particularly those related to Azure.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, and network protocols.
