The Role
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior HRIS Manager to lead the ongoing support, optimization, and governance of the Workday Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll modules. This role will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), providing functional leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on system management to ensure operational excellence and compliance. The ideal candidate is both technically savvy and business-minded, with strong project management skills and a deep understanding of end-to-end HR and payroll processes.
Your day-to-day
- System Ownership & Support Lead the design, configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll modules
- Serve as a liaison between HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to ensure system alignment with business needs
- Troubleshoot system issues, manage incidents, and ensure timely resolution of tickets and requests
- Process Improvement & Optimization Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, or improve current processes
- Implement best practices for configuration, data management, and audit controls
- Lead system testing, UAT, and deployment for Workday updates and releases
- Compliance & Data Integrity Ensure system compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, PTO, overtime, and tax regulations
- Partner with Payroll and Legal/Compliance teams to manage audits and reporting
- Project & Change Management Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects, including system upgrades, integrations, and new feature rollouts
- Support change management, including training, communications, and documentation
- Team Leadership & Collaboration Mentor HRIS team members and promote a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
- Collaborate with external vendors and Workday partners as needed
What you bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Workday, with deep expertise in Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll modules
- Proven track record of leading HRIS projects from design to implementation
- Solid understanding of payroll processes, time tracking rules, accruals, and labor regulations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with reporting tools such as Workday Report Writer
- Preferred: ADP experience preferred Experience working in multi-state or global environments
- Knowledge of HCM functionality, Workday integrations, and security roles
- Experience in managing Workday post-production support in large enterprise settings.

Base Pay Range: 161,625.00 - 237,050.00 USDCalifornia (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:
Base Pay Range: 132,225.00 - 193,930.00 USDAll other cities and states excluding those listed above:
