OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a Computer Systems Analyst / Systems Administrator to support operations at the Distributed Training Center (DTC). This role is essential to maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing simulation environments using the Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON) and other mission-critical systems in support of U.S. Air Force distributed simulation training events.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Operate and maintain multi-user computer systems and infrastructure supporting DMO training.
2. Monitor, control, and isolate issues in a complex data communications network.
3. Activate/deactivate DTC systems for scheduled events and provide Tier I/II support.
4. Configure and maintain systems including OS/software updates, system imaging, and VTC setup.
5. Ensure system security and compliance with strict DoD Information Systems security protocols.
6. Create and maintain user and computer accounts in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
7. Develop and document SOPs, processes, and technical solutions.
8. Collaborate with vendors and evaluate third-party products and services.
9. Support backup, recovery, and patch management processes.
10. Troubleshoot hybrid environments including Windows and Linux systems.
11. Analyze customer requirements to identify and implement system solutions.
12. Support and maintain virtual environments (e.g., VMware ESX) and ensure network compatibility.
13. Report project and system status to stakeholders and support occasional shift work as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate’s degree with 5 years of experience, Bachelor’s with 2 years, or Master’s with 0 years.
2. (High school diploma with 7+ years of experience may be considered.)
3. Ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR access.
4. Must possess or be able to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, or CASP) within 6 months.
5. Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architectures.
6. Self-motivated with a proven ability to work under minimal direction.
7. Ability to work occasional shifts in support of mission schedules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
8. Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware ESX, provisioning storage/networking).
9. Familiarity with Windows 10, Server 2012R2/2016, Active Directory, and RedHat Linux.
10. Skilled in writing SOPs and system cold-start documentation.
11. Experience with patch deployment, backup/recovery solutions, and associated reporting.
12. Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Batch, Bash, Python) to automate tasks.
13. Working knowledge of DIS/HLA Protocols and basic networking; CCNA certification a plus.
