IT Security Analyst

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Security Analyst to join our dynamic team in Sydney. Reporting to the Pacific IT Service Delivery Manager, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's information assets and ensuring a secure IT environment. You will be responsible for a range of security-related tasks, from vendor security assessments to incident response and user awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor Security Management: Ensure all new vendor security practices meet or exceed company-defined policies and requirements.
• Application Security: Liaise with external third parties to conduct comprehensive security checks for new applications.
• Security Enhancement: Recommend proactive security enhancements to management and senior IT staff.
• Security Awareness: Provide regular communication to the wider business on emerging security threats and best practices for self-protection.
• Security Research: Research and evaluate new security technologies to determine their effectiveness in protecting the organization.
• Threat Intelligence: Stay abreast of the latest information technology (IT) security trends.
• Phishing Simulations: Conduct quarterly phishing exercises to assess and improve user awareness.
• Infrastructure Security: Maintain the security posture of end-user computing and server infrastructure.
• Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Assist with regional monitoring, triage alerts, and respond to security issues within the Pacific Region.
• Incident Escalation: Escalate security threats appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Risk Management: Demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management practices, including incident handling, root cause analysis, participating in risk assessments, and maintaining risk registers.
• Compliance: Understanding of the principles and a strong working knowledge of ISO27001/NIST practices and controls (beneficial).
• Proactive Approach: Exhibit a willingness to handle tasks of varying complexity with enthusiasm and meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in an IT-related field, such as network or systems administration.
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: Minimum 1 year of experience with advanced knowledge of new technologies and trends in cybersecurity.
• Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, trusted security services.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated capability with Google Workspace (formerly GSuite), Gmail, Active Directory, and Citrix.
• Chromebook Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of Chromebooks (beneficial).
• Qualifications: Relevant IT qualifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, and ITIL (preferred).
• IT Systems Understanding: Strong knowledge and understanding of IT systems, their use, and applicability in the service industry.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively explain complex security concepts to non-technical users and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and background checks.
