Summer trainee – Information Security Project (ISO 27001)

At Upright, we're on a mission to make common-sense net impact data accessible to everyone. As our customer base expands to include larger enterprises and institutional investors, the importance of information security is growing rapidly. To support this critical area, we're looking for a detail-oriented and independent summer intern to join our team and assist in the ongoing implementation of ISO 27001 standards for information security management.
This summer position will last approximately 3 months, preferably starting before June. In this role, you'll be responsible for reviewing and assessing security controls, conducting tests, and identifying the steps required to ensure compliance with ISO 27001. You'll work closely with the project team and gain valuable hands-on experience in information security processes and ISO 27001 standards.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviewing and assessing security controls and related documentation using compliance automation tool.
• Conducting tests and evaluations of existing controls to ensure they meet ISO 27001 standards.
• Prepare necessary documentation, training, and internal communication materials.
• Researching and utilizing modern AI-driven tools to gather information and troubleshoot challenges.
• Independently identify gaps in current processes and suggest improvements.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth execution of tasks.

SIGNS OF BEING A GREAT MATCH FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify necessary steps for compliance.
• Proactive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Preferably closer to graduation in fields such as Computer Science, IT, Economics, or similar.
• Previous experience in information security, IT, or a related field is a plus but not required.
