Job Description

Reporting to General Manager with a dotted line to the Vice President of IT, the Director of IT will significantly contribute to the performance of their area by ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems and infrastructure, driving technological innovation, and maintaining robust IT security across multiple properties. The role will provide IT leadership and support to the hotel management teams, aligning technology initiatives with the strategic goals of the organization. This position serves as a strategic business partner to the Executive Committee, fostering a culture of technological excellence and innovation.

This is a director level IT role where you will be required to navigate a cluster environment and provide perspective on what hotel industry-leading IT delivery means. You will implement and oversee IT activities, processes, and procedures that support the existing teams and the future growth of the business. Building positive and effective working relationships across the properties will be essential to drive IT performance, efficiency, and security in line with the business’s needs.

 

What You’ll Do

IT Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the overall business goals of each property within the cluster.
  • Provide IT leadership and guidance to the Executive Committees and hotel management teams.
  • Ensure that IT policies, procedures, and controls are implemented and adhered to across all properties.

IT Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of all IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for technological improvements and upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the timely resolution of IT issues and support requests across all properties.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management

  • Develop and implement robust cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and IT assets.
  • Monitor and manage IT security risks, implementing appropriate controls and procedures.
  • Conduct regular IT security audits and reviews to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.

IT Project Management

  • Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify IT project requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of IT projects, ensuring stakeholders are informed of project status and any issues.

Vendor Management

  • Identify and establish relationships with key IT vendors and service providers to ensure the best value and service.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with IT vendors to achieve cost savings and service excellence.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and manage vendor relationships to ensure reliability and quality.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the IT teams across the properties, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Provide training and support to ensure the IT teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; IT certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of IT or equivalent role in a multi-property or cluster environment.
  • Proven track record of IT leadership in a fast-paced, international hospitality environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex IT data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in IT management software and systems, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
