Senior Network Security Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network & Security Administrator to manage daily operational workloads related to network security, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud-based routing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, VMware NSX, Cloud Routing, and Splunk, ensuring secure, high-performance, and reliable network operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Security Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and security policies to protect the enterprise network.

• Load Balancing & Traffic Management: Administer and optimize F5 Load Balancers to ensure efficient traffic distribution and application availability.

• Cloud Network Operations: Manage and optimize cloud-based routing, VPNs, and network peering in Google Cloud (GCP), AWS, or Azure environments.

• VMware NSX Administration: Deploy and manage NSX network virtualization and micro-segmentation to enhance security and efficiency.

• Incident & Threat Response: Proactively monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and network issues using Splunk and other SIEM tools.

• Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance metrics, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement improvements for scalability and efficiency.

• Access Control & Compliance: Implement role-based access control (RBAC), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and compliance measures to meet security standards (ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST).

• Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible to streamline network management tasks.

• Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Implement failover mechanisms, backup configurations, and redundancy plans to ensure business continuity.

• Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain clear documentation of network topologies, security policies, firewall rules, and operational procedures while working closely with IT teams

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Security, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in network and security operations.

• Certifications: Preferred certifications include Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, F5-CA, VMware NSX-T, CCNP Security, or equivalent.

• Technical Proficiency:

o Strong expertise in firewall configuration, security policies, and VPN management with Palo Alto Networks.

o In-depth knowledge of F5 Load Balancer administration, SSL offloading, and traffic management.

o Experience managing cloud networking services (VPC, peering, hybrid connectivity, SD-WAN, interconnects) in GCP, AWS, or Azure.

o Proficiency in Splunk administration, SIEM log analysis, and security event correlation.

o Experience with VMware NSX network virtualization, micro-segmentation, and software-defined networking (SDN).

o Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network troubleshooting, and packet analysis.

o Hands-on experience with automation using Python, Ansible, or Terraform for network security management.

o Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001) and risk mitigation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with multi-cloud security and hybrid cloud networking.

• Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and advanced threat protection.

• Knowledge of next-generation firewalls (NGFW), WAF, and DDoS mitigation techniques.
