Northern Trust seeks a Cybersecurity Project Coordinator to coordinate or organize project activities. his role is accountable for providing project administration and data analysis support for the Cybersecurity Program Office. The role will require collaboration with Project Managers, Managers and Senior Leadership within Cybersecurity Strategic Program Delivery and across all Cybersecurity “Towers”. This role reports directly to the Governance & Reporting Director in the Cybersecurity Strategic Program Delivery group.
Major Duties
Project Delivery:
- Coordinates and organizes all activities of a project. Identifies, defines, and completes project activities.
- Drive hard-working global teams consisting of employees and onshore/offshore consultants from multiple vendors.
- Coordinate teams that consist of technology engineers, solution architects, and application owners.
- Creates timetables and monitors progress toward completion of project.
- Interviews and collects data from internal partners and clients. Analyzes and recommends improvement plans.
- Gathers facts, defines problems, and prepares documentation regarding specific processes and procedures.
- Conducts system testing and schedules implementation.
- Interacts with all levels in functional and system support areas in developing project activities.
- Partner with key business and technology stakeholders to define expected project benefits and outcomes and ensure successful achievement through project completion.
- Manage project management documentation as directed by the project manager/product owner.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Schedule stakeholder meetings and facilitate communication between the project manager and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
- Prepares written documentation to support project status and decisions. Writes procedures and trains staff on new processes and/or systems.
- Promotes the project by speaking at various meetings, committees, and participates on task forces. Coordinates communication materials for the project.
- Prepares and presents status reports for management such as measurement reporting, process improvement results, and goals of a project.
- Identifies reporting needs resulting from a new system or process changes.
- Identifies and researches conversion discrepancies. Creates documents to resolve out of balance conditions.
- Change agent for project coordinator best-practices.
Financial Management
- Works with internal partners to develop cost/benefit analyses and to determine recommended solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
A successful candidate for the role will have at least 5 years of overall experience including in Financial Services industry, with at least 3 years’ experience in functional area or project related experience. Additionally, the candidate will posses:
- Cybersecurity Project Coordination Experience – coordinating and organizing cybersecurity projects related to Identity & Access Management (i.e., Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Identity Authentication and Authorization (IAA)), Data Protection, Security Operations, or Attack Surface Management.
- Organizational Savvy – experience working within a matrixed organization to drive delivery of complex projects involving multiple disciplines.
- Problem Solving Skills – ability to handle ambiguous or complex issues including ability to identify creative resolution paths and gaining necessary alignment and support from leadership and stakeholders to bring to resolution.
- Superior Communication Skills– ability to articulate ideas and information verbally and in writing for varying audiences.
- Initiative – takes initiative at suggesting improvements and anticipating the needs of leadership, program stakeholders and team members.
- Organizational Skills – able to handle multiple simultaneous work deliverables and prioritize them accordingly.
- Delivery Mindset – has a delivery mindset with a bias for action, curiosity to learn, challenge, and enhance processes.
- Expert Analytical Skills – able to assemble data and analyze patterns, trends and draw conclusions and recommendations; rely on data to guide decisions.
- Knowledge of and experience working in software delivery lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Agile/ Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
- Proficiency with:
- Project planning tools such as: MS Project, Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards, or similar
- Clarity PPM for project financial and status reporting (or similar)
- Collaboration tools such as: Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams
- Reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar data reporting and analytics tools.
- A College or University degree
- Current PMP certification a plus, but not required.
Salary Range:
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
