The Team
We are seeking a Senior Director, Information Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance to join American Tower’s Information Security organization. The Information Security team is responsible for protecting the confidential, integrity, and availability of American Tower’s data and systems in our core systems and platforms. Day to day you will focus on finding proactive solutions to prevent cybersecurity incidents, defending against cybersecurity incidents, aligning with Sarbanes Oxley and GDPR compliance requirements, as well as identifying, analyzing, communicating compliance issues as they occur. As a Senior Director, you will partner cross-functionally with the IT team and Business groups to deliver compliance and governance across our platforms.

What You Can Offer Us
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) between IT and the lines of business in the development of appropriate policies, standards, frameworks and tools
- Implement risk remediation tools and protocols to ensure compliance issues are mitigated, risks are accounted for and exceptions are tracked in accordance with frameworks, policies and standards set by the organization
- Educate stakeholders on Governance and Compliance -related matters in an effort to increase awareness and improve processes
- Conduct network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using various Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, such as Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, Host-Based Security System (HBSS), etc.
- Constructively engage business partners regarding IT Governance and Compliance issues
- Facilitate and coordinate ongoing internal and external reviews and audits with identified business owners and ensure appropriate action is taken based on the information gathered during those reviews.
- Conduct and monitor third-party system certifications and conduct security and privacy impact assessments for existing and new initiatives across the Company.
- Establish risk ownership and accountability within the platform
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of experience working in a complex network environment with a specific focus on business outcomes and service delivery strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to convey complex information risk and security, governance and compliance issues in a manner that is easily understood and actionable and constructively challenges prevailing thoughts and processes.
- Has good judgment, a sense of urgency and has demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
- Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self and team to meet requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong leadership skills: ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results.
- Approximately 10% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
