The Cyber Security Assessment Analyst IV leads and manages the authorization process for information systems. This position will require a deep understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes, and be proficient in applying security controls according to the NIST 800-53 standards. This position is on-site in the Albany, GA area.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Secret Clearance is required and must be maintained for employment. Must be eligible for an IT-II upon assignment. 

  • Experience in assessing security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large, complex organizations.  

  • Certification at the IAM III level (for non-CERT personnel), or IAT II level (for CERT personnel) 

  • Certification in the following: AC & PHY SEC, CompTIA Security +, CE, CISSP, MCDST, MCITP EDST, MCITP EDA, MCITP SA, MCITP EA, MCM, MCA: MS Windows Server: Directory, Windows 10, MCSA, MCSE. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Serves as a cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regards to Authorization of information systems and all associated cybersecurity policies and procedures. 

  • Fully versed in the general tenets supporting the overall DOD implementation of its authorization process, to include supporting cybersecurity policy, procedures and processes.  

  • Performs a DOD cybersecurity process while either authorizing an information system or serving as a SME for an information system undergoing authorization. 

  • Possess an understanding of how the security controls identified in the NIST 800-53 apply to the process of assessing and authorizing a large organization’s IT infrastructure such as DLA’s, in which there is a compilation of large and small enclaves, AIS applications and outsourced IT processes.  

  • Determines the applicable severity value for an identified vulnerability (e.g., non-compliant security control), and determines the possible ramifications on the system’s current or future authorization. 

  • Required to brief senior management on the progress or results of an information system undergoing the authorization process. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of relevant C&A experience; Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST C&A experience; DOD cybersecurity experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
