The Information Security Intern will recommend and monitor appropriate security protocols, controls, and best practices for all security domains throughout the company to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of system and data is maintained securely. This position will monitor security systems to ensure they are performing and reporting correctly. The Security Information Intern will assist with conducting security risk assessments to identify weaknesses in systems and applications. This position will assist with preparing client and third-party security audits and assessments. The Information Security Intern will perform internal and external auditing to ensure compliance with Information Security parameters and ensure compliance with all security policies and procedures.

Job Details:

  • Remote Opportunity!

  • Ensure antivirus/antimalware systems are configured and working properly.

  • Ensure Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems are configured and performing correctly.

  • Ensure all audit logging systems, including interface with SIEM and SOC is configured and performing correctly.

  • Ensure vulnerability scans (internal and external) are performed for all of CBE systems.

  • Facilitate patch cadence adherence working with other teams to ensure timely patching of systems is completed.

  • Perform Entitlement Reviews to ensure proper access to information systems.

  • Complete internal security and compliance audits per procedure, in required timeframes.

  • Recommend system security controls and framework by developing standards, policies, and procedures; coordinating with facilities security; recommending improvements.

  • Assist with performing security incident response planning and testing.

  • Research and evaluate data security enhancements to maintain or surpass industry standards.

  • Participate in other teams, projects and task forces as may be required to ensure appropriate access controls and security related processes are designed into applications, systems, and products.

  • Provide regular project and time accounting to management via appropriate tools.

Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in Secondary Education pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field is required

  • Must be able to obtain government clearance after hire. US Citizenship is required by the US government in order to obtain government clearance.

  • Knowledge of network protocols, infrastructures and monitoring systems.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills.

The pay range for this position is $19-$25/hour. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
