We're looking for an Information Services Security Analyst to support our Information Services team! We are looking for more than a Security background-Someone who has technical skills and experience in other areas of IT - Enterprise Windows, networking, or development. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right behavior and attitude – an assertive and motivated person who is always looking to learn more and improve their skills
As an Information Services Security Analyst you will be primarily involved in activities and issues relating to development and sustainability of information security assets, information technology projects, and security event monitoring and response.
In this position you will be required to act with a minimum of supervision while adhering to defined IS policies, procedures, and best practices as well as management’s direction. At all times the roles provide timely responses to assignments/projects, managing requestor expectations, ensuring customer satisfaction and aligning with corporate directions as defined by management.
The Information Services Security Analyst provides a role for problem resolution, fosters positive growth, has high standards and values, is a source of guidance, has strong work ethics, and mentor employees in various teams. This role IS Security Analyst is a resource capable of solving the most critical issues and is considered an expert in information security technologies.
More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and respond to security events and incidents, collaborating with the MDR provider to detect, analyze, and respond to threats targeting the Servus IS environment.
- Independently investigate and resolve security incidents, coordinating corrective actions and maintaining detailed documentation of findings and resolutions.
- Configure, monitor, and optimize SIEM and XDR platforms to ensure timely threat detection and effective alerting across Servus systems.
- Oversee firewall configurations and change management processes to ensure network access controls are aligned with organizational security policies.
- Manage and fine-tune Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to protect against malicious traffic and common web-based attacks.
- Administer web proxy and URL filtering tools to prevent access to harmful or unauthorized web content.
- Deploy and maintain secure email platforms to protect communications from phishing, spoofing, and malware threats.
- Maintain detailed documentation of security system configurations, incidents, and compliance activities to support ongoing operations and audits.
- Oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) operations by managing tools, investigating moderate DLP incidents, and ensuring adherence to internal data protection policies.
- Knowledge and ability to improve, customize, tune & tailor the information security of systems across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with other IS staff in the development, implementation, and sustainment of security controls for the Servus IS environment using existing and new tools.
- Understand and use relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and/or standards in performing one’s work.
Requirements
To qualify, you'll need at least the following:
- 3+ years of experience in information security, with 1+ year experience within a large environment.
- Project management skills to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives while balancing urgent operational needs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across teams, presenting findings, and supporting security awareness.
- Strong proficiency in using and managing security tools (e.g., SIEM, XDR, DLP solutions) for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to threats.
- Strong proficiency in firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection, web proxy, and secure email security.
- Ability to independently investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and propose remedial actions.
- Experience with policy enforcement, rule tuning, and security best practices.
- Knowledge of Just in Time scripting language, such as PowerShell, Python, Lua or similar.
- Skilled in reporting and metrics creation, particularly around threat detection, response times, and fraud metrics.
Education and Training
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related IT discipline is strongly preferred.
- Alternatively, extensive proven track record in the position’s primary responsibility areas within the Financial Sector
Licenses/Certificates
One or more of the following certifications or equivalents is highly preferred:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
- GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI),
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC),
- Information Security Manager (CISM),
- or other mid-level cybersecurity certifications.
Relevant Microsoft enterprise certification or Networking certification will also be considered.
