We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated Principal Information Security Engineer who enjoys security work and possesses both deep and wide expertise in the security space. You are eager to pick up new technologies and apply them to business challenges without hesitation. You possess the ability to think differently and provide opinions on ways to improve in inefficiencies.

You will make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data.

You must have the ability to learn quickly in new environments during the troubleshooting process. Familiarity with Linux command line and ability to apply that knowledge to similar proprietary operating systems. Demonstrate strong security-minded knowledge and apply associated best practices when implementing changes, developing new designs or working with business applications and associated network flows.

Day-to-day tasks might include:

  • Researching new attack vectors and developing threat models
  • Developing security standards and best practices
  • Recommending security enhancements to management
  • Automating security improvements
  • Ensuring new security systems are installed and configured correctly
  • Testing security solutions
  • Work with Security Architecture on Designs
  • Leading security engineering incidents
  • Identifying security measures to improve incident response
  • Responding to security incidents
  • Coordinating incident response across teams
  • Performing security assessments
  • Developing technical solutions to security vulnerabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information
  • Identify and define security requirements for designs
  • Assist Security Architecture with implementing strategic designs of a complex, high-scale enterprise security program that protects all levels of the OSI model
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement

Requirements and Skills:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Security/Systems Engineering
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer
  • Experience in building and maintaining security systems
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including Email Security, NGFW, DLP, CASB, Web Filtering, EPP/EDR, authentication systems, and log management
  • In depth knowledge of networking and network monitoring tools
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
