Job Title: Director of Retail & Corporate IT Infrastructure

Location: Dundalk, Ireland (On-site or Hybrid – Minimum 50% on-site)

Job Summary:

The Director of Retail & Corporate IT Infrastructure is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and operation of BoyleSports retail and corporate IT infrastructure. This role ensures that our retail shops, corporate offices, and internal IT systems are resilient, secure, and optimised for high availability and performance.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in enterprise IT, retail technology (POS, SSBT, credit card machines etc), and end-user computing, with a focus on modernising legacy systems, improving connectivity, and enhancing IT service delivery. This individual will drive innovation in retail and workplace technology, ensuring a seamless and secure IT experience for both employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail & Corporate IT Strategy

Develop and implement an IT infrastructure strategy that supports 400 + retail stores, multiple corporate offices, and enterprise IT systems (PBX etc) while aligning with business goals. Oversee the modernisation of retail store IT systems, networking, and in-store digital solutions to enhance the customer experience. Optimise corporate office IT services, including network infrastructure, security, and end-user computing. Drive an automation-first approach to reduce manual processes and enhance IT service efficiency.

Retail & Office Infrastructure Management

Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of IT systems across BoyleSports’ retail locations and corporate offices. Lead the deployment and management of retail POS systems, in-store connectivity solutions, and digital signage while maintaining a responsibility for all stock management across all sites. Oversee corporate IT services, including Active Directory, Office 365, VoIP, printing, and video conferencing solutions.

Service Delivery & IT Operations

Lead IT service management (ITSM) and ensure adherence to SLAs for retail stores and corporate users. Implement ITIL-based best practices for incident management, change management, and service desk operations. Develop a proactive approach to IT support and self-service IT solutions.

Network, Security & Compliance

Oversee network infrastructure, including MPLS & SD-WAN solutions, to ensure seamless and secure connectivity across retail and office locations. Ensure cybersecurity best practices are enforced, including endpoint security, identity management, and Zero Trust architectures. Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, and other relevant industry regulations. Work closely with the Director of Cloud & Digital Infrastructure to align security policies and best practices across all technology domains.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven Leadership Experience: 10+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Retail & Enterprise IT Expertise: Experience managing IT infrastructure across both retail environments and corporate office settings.
  • Networking & Connectivity: Strong knowledge of MPLS, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and secure remote access solutions.
  • End-User Computing & IT Service Management: Experience overseeing enterprise IT services such as Active Directory, Office 365, VoIP, and ITSM frameworks (ITIL).
  • Security & Compliance: Understanding of PCI DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR, and retail-specific security challenges.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong stakeholder management, influencing skills, and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Certifications Preferred: ITIL, CISSP, CCNP
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to translate business objectives into robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
