Job Description

Our Sales SA positions will require 25-35% travel to conferences, partner offices, and customer sites.

At RapidScale, exceptional technology is powered by exceptional people. As a growing leader in secure, reliable managed cloud solutions, we help SMBs and enterprises alike simplify IT and unleash innovation. With a broad portfolio spanning AWS, Azure and Google to a full set of Private Cloud and Cybersecurity solutions, RapidScale helps companies turn technology into their biggest competitive advantage.  As part of the Cox family of companies, we offer best-in-class benefits, a commitment to work-life balance, and an award-winning workplace experience.

We are seeking an experienced Security Solutions Architect to join our growing go-to-market team. In this strategic overlay role, you will serve as a trusted security advisor to our customers and field sales teams, helping shape secure, scalable solutions across hybrid, public, and private cloud environments. You’ll work cross-functionally with account teams, product specialists, and engineering to translate business requirements into secure technical architectures that support customer success and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on cybersecurity, compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS, HIPAA, PCI), and secure architecture best practices across cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Sales Enablement: Partner with generalist solution engineers and account executives to co-develop secure, differentiated solutions for customers, especially in regulated industries.
  • Customer Engagement: Lead security-focused discovery sessions, whiteboarding workshops, and executive briefings to understand client needs and articulate value.
  • Solution Design: Design and validate security architectures, guiding the integration of cloud-native and third-party security controls (IAM, encryption, network segmentation, SIEM/SOAR, etc.) into customer solutions.
  • Technical Validation: Drive technical proof points including demos, pilots, and RFx responses with a security-first lens.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of the evolving threat landscape and emerging technologies; contribute to internal knowledge bases and represent security capabilities in go-to-market initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to provide feedback on feature requests and customer requirements.
  • Training & Upskilling: Support enablement efforts to upskill internal teams and train partners on core security principles and patterns.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • A BA/BS Degree with 6+ years of experience, or a MS Degree with 4+ years of experience, or a Ph.D with one year of experience, or 10 years of overall experience without a degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting role, with a minimum of 3 years focused on cybersecurity.
  • Understanding of security architectures with a strong focus on hybrid (on-prem + cloud ) and multi-cloud (VMware / Private Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP) environments.
  • Familiarity with modern security tooling and practices (e.g., Zero Trust, CNAPP, SASE, XDR, etc).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Industry certifications a plus: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, AWS/Azure/GCP Security Specialties.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and acting as a bridge between business needs and technical execution.
  • Passion for customer advocacy, secure design, and building long-term trust.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without direct authority.
