Our work depends on Systems Administrator Advisor joining our team to ensure 24/7 availability of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's Operational Information Management System (OIMS).

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

In this role, you will be responsible for Red Hat Linux Server Administration, ensuring server stability, optimal performance, and security. Your expertise in system monitoring and performance optimization will help us identify and resolve potential issues proactively, maintaining a reliable and efficient infrastructure. By adhering to security guidelines and conducting audits, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding OIMS data and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your collaboration with the Platform Engineer will further contribute to the design and maintenance of our platform infrastructure, driving automation and efficiency.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Technical Training, Certifications: Minimum CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT II compliant certification.

  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience

  • Experience with Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) development and updates.

  • Familiarity with Navy Evaluate STIG tool and implementing DoD DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

  • Comfortable with system hardening, patching, and performance tuning.

  • Ability to document configurations, write SOPs.

  • Experience supporting ATO (Authorization to Operate) packages or audits in a DoD context.

  • Experience with Linux (preferred) and Windows Server.

  • Required Technical Skills: Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for task automation and systems management.

  • Familiarity with MS Azure preferred.

  • Ability to perform system audits with and assessments to identify potential STIG violations and security weaknesses, remediate findings, and update STIG configurations based on the latest guidance and security updates.

  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite

  • Additional certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, are advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Security Clearance Level: Current TS/SCI security clearance (mandatory)

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Cross-team collaboration with developers, engineers, and security staff, and recommend solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving work environment.

  • Location: On Customer Site with some remote work with customer approval.

  • US Citizenship Required

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
