Job Description

HII—Mission Technologies is currently seeking experienced Information System Security Officers (ISSO's) to work out of Fort Meade, MD, in support of a multi-national capability developed to connect respective existing national Secret networks and services to deliver improved information sharing capabilities between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Establishes system security designs. Implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures. Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities. Supports secure systems operations and maintenance.

  •  Documenting Requirements in eMASS: Document and manage security requirements and findings in eMASS, ensuring accessibility and compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Tracking POAMs: Track and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) within eMASS to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Conducting Test Results: Develop, execute, and document security test results, ensuring all findings are accurately recorded and addressed in eMASS.
  • Closing Out Findings: Ensure timely closure of security findings by documenting remediation efforts in eMASS and communicating status updates to stakeholders.
  • STIG tracking and assessment: Track on a quarterly basis any changes of STIGs and create trackable data of what is needed from all teams to ensure all STIGs are accounted for. 
  • Coordinate and manage the development of cybersecurity documentation and ensure it is properly processed within eMASS.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Possess and maintain an active Secret clearance
  • 4- 10 years’ experience in Network/Systems Engineering space supporting DoD and Federal clients
  • Understanding and practical experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) process, Risk Management Framework (RMF) ISSM/ISSO / Security Control Assessment (SCA) experience
  • Experience with eMASS, including writing, processing, and tracking security documentation, as well as managing POAMs and their closure.
  • Hands-on experience with security assessments, vulnerability management, and reporting results within eMASS.

Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience performing quality assurance checks on security documentation in eMASS to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Experience shepherding development projects through ATO approval (Developing RMF review packages, guiding/coordinating Cybersecurity mitigations)
  • Experience working in or for the military
  • Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking in support of military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments, such as Pegasus.
  • 8570 Level I and II certifications
