About This Opportunity  

The Senior Cyber Security Governance Officer supports the Cyber Security team to deliver cyber security risk and security assessments and other activities related to the operation of the Information Security Management System. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Risk & Continuity Management: Undertakes risk management activities, maintains risk documentation, and supports the development, review, and testing of continuity and disaster recovery plans for critical IT services.

  • Measurement & Reporting: Applies standard techniques for specifying cybersecurity metrics, collects and maintains data, generates reports, and identifies improvements in data collection methods.

  • Information Security: Communicates security risks, performs cyber security risk assessments, suggests countermeasures to mitigate risks, and defines secure system configurations in compliance with architectures.

  • Supplier Management: Conducts security assessments of third-party IT services, reviews supplier security obligations, and supports monitoring of supplier compliance with security requirements.

About You  
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, commerce, law, IT) or equivalent experience and/or education/training.

  • Strong understanding of cyber frameworks and principles.

  • Possesses domain and specialist knowledge to perform effectively, applies industry knowledge, and stays current with new information.

  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills, applies appropriate tools and processes, and uses digital skills in the role.

  • Takes initiative to identify and pursue development opportunities, with a focus on learning and growing in the field.

  • Handles complex and non-routine tasks with a methodical approach, contributing creative solutions and new ways to complete work.

  • Works effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners, influencing decisions and representing user needs in work.

  • Works under general direction, plans and monitors own work, and escalates issues when necessary, demonstrating discretion in handling complex matters.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
