Job Description
The salary for this role is £31,100. Onsite working is expected for 4 days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is based at the following site; Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As Incident Response and Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in acting as the initial response and investigation of incident reports. Working at an operational level, you will provide the initial assessment and investigation of an incident and support the Safety and Health Business Partners with fact finds as well as contributing to lessons learned. In addition, you will support the SHE team in compliance auditing at Culham.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide visible SHE support at Culham campus by being onsite at least 4 days per week.
- Provide initial response and support to safety, health and environmental incident reports.
- Contribute to lessons learned for incidents and help to identify trends to prevent recurrences.
- Participate in the compliance monitoring program at Culham by completing compliance monitoring activities such as audits, safety and health tours and inspections ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are assigned to resolve areas of non-compliance.
- Contribute to the wider SHE strategy of ensuring continuous improvement across the organisation by providing recommendations based on audit and incident investigation findings.
Qualifications
Essential:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate
- Good understanding of safety procedures and why they are required. Knowledge of safety systems would be beneficial.
- Ability to work on own initiative or with others on tasks with minimum supervision.
- Good problem-solving abilities and be able to cope under pressure
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
