Job SummaryThe Director of Information Security Controls Assurance oversees a team of risk experts and engineers, working with the US Controls Assurance team to implement methodologies and approaches for regulatory control health monitoring and to ensure applications built or implemented in the environment comply with industry, legal, governmental, risk, and safety standards. Examples of regulatory compliance focus areas include but not limited to Health & Wellness, Food Safety, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Trade/Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, etc. This position will be responsible for maintaining strong collaborative relationships with Global Governance Leaders, Business Leaders, and Technology Leaders to achieve our objectives. In this leadership role, the individual will contribute to the strategy for creating and implementing automated preventative and detective controls and processes to ensure compliance. The Director of Information Security Controls Assurance will functionally report to the US Group Director of Global Tech Assurance.

The Controls Assurance team collaborates with business partners, Governance, and Global Tech teams to ensure applications are properly deployed, monitored, and controlled to meet appropriate levels of compliance for industry, legal, governmental, risk and safety standards. We also work to create automated preventative and detective controls and processes and implement systematic testing for continuous compliance to provide confidence key application controls are functioning as intended.

The Information Security team has the herculean task of assuring that customers can safely shop with peace of mind knowing their data and information will be safe and secure. Solving some of the most unique cyber security problems in the industry, our team members share an elevated level of creativity and ingenuity to secure data for the largest retail operation in the world. Security Engineering Development team is looking for Software Engineer III, who has passion in development of software product and services in area of cyber security. Ideal candidates should have strong background in technology and security awareness. Some of the core technology experiences that are desirable for this role would be to have a good software development experience with both front end and backend technologies like integration with backend REST APIs, working with backend databases and exposure to cyber security domain.
What you'll do...
As the Director of Information Security Controls Assurance you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Cultivate strong working relationships with Global Governance stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and objectives.
- Supervise the implementation and maintenance of IT regulatory control and health monitoring frameworks and platform.
- Guide the team in collaborating with stakeholders to integrate IT regulatory controls into the control health monitoring platform.
- Ensure control health anomalies detected are resolved timely and with appropriate actions being executed.
- Provide confidence new solutions are built or implemented in compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and are control health monitoring ready.
- Report on the control health of IT regulatory systems to internal stakeholders and recommend enhancements.
- As requested, lead assessments of IT regulatory systems to identify risks and areas for improvement, ensuring a controlled environment for maintaining control health.
- Monitor control health trends and relative system environment issues and update program approach accordingly.
- Manage a team of professionals responsible for IT controls assurance and risk management.
- Liaise with internal auditors and compliance subject matter experts to facilitate control health monitoring reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement of IT control health processes through innovative strategies and solutions.
What you’ll bring…
- Sound experience in working with technical and operational compliance teams
- Proven experience in evaluating, designing, and implementing IT processes and controls for IT systems, platforms, and supporting tools
- Familiarity with retail and regulatory compliance systems would be a plus (i.e. Health & Wellness, Financial, Food Safety, etc.)
- Track record of leading and managing teams
- Certified in a relevant risk field is a plus (CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of IT regulatory standards and frameworks (COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL, etc.)
- Methodical and systematic problem-solving approach, combined with strong drive and initiative
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across different teams
- Influence Technical Teams to achieve desired objectives
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and help develop a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
