About the team

The Information Security team has the herculean task of assuring that customers can safely shop with peace of mind knowing their data and information will be safe and secure. Solving some of the most unique cyber security problems in the industry, our team members share an elevated level of creativity and ingenuity to secure data for the largest retail operation in the world. Security Engineering Development team is looking for Software Engineer III, who has passion in development of software product and services in area of cyber security. Ideal candidates should have strong background in technology and security awareness. Some of the core technology experiences that are desirable for this role would be to have a good software development experience with both front end and backend technologies like integration with backend REST APIs, working with backend databases and exposure to cyber security domain.

What you'll do...

As a Risk Expert III, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Execute our goals and objectives under the guidance of Team Leadership.
  • Assist in identifying new or changed scope of regulatory systems that necessitate the monitoring of control health.
  • Engage in or support discussions with key stakeholders to understand the regulatory systematic controls or critical system behavior that needs to be monitored. 
  • Work with the Controls Assurance Engineering team to integrate regulatory systems into the control health monitoring platform for assigned areas.
  • Adhere to established protocols for addressing detected control health anomalies, ensure Technical Teams resolve issues timely, and understand the root cause to prevent future occurrences.
  • Engage in or support discussions with relevant stakeholders regarding control automation opportunities for manual regulatory controls in assigned areas.
  • Assist in documenting control requirements for automation to guide the Technical Teams in formulating their strategic roadmaps.
  • Follow procedures to ensure new automated controls meet established criteria for monitoring their control health.
  • Support assessments of in-scope regulatory systems per methodology to gain insights into the existing operational environment that impact control health.
  • Identify and document improvement opportunities with recommended corrective action while assessing the regulatory systems.

What you’ll bring…

  • Experience in assessing, designing, and implementing IT processes and controls
  • Familiarity with retail and regulatory compliance systems a plus (i.e. Health & Wellness, Financial, Food Safety, etc.)
  • Good understanding of IT regulatory standards and frameworks (COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL, etc.)
  • Methodical and systematic problem-solving approach, combined with strong drive and initiative
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Certified in a relevant risk field is a plus (CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, etc.)
