These roles require a Top Secret security clearance and candidates must be located in Omaha, NE.
Level 1: Cybersecurity Engineer - Journeyman
As a Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer, you will contribute to the protection of our organization's systems and data. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will participate in security monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and incident response activities. You will also support the implementation of security controls and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate Enterprise and Systems Architecture activities, documenting "as-is" architectures to support informed decision-making for future capabilities.
- Capture system requirements in official repositories and assist in designing secure solutions for IT systems and network infrastructures.
- Perform and manage security monitoring, deploying relevant security applications.
- Conduct thorough risk and vulnerability assessments to develop controls for operational risk mitigation.
- Coordinate security protocols for architectures, firewalls, and network access.
- Evaluate new security technologies under guidance of senior engineers to strengthen defenses.
- Conduct vulnerability scans using COTS and GOTS tools and oversee remediation actions.
- Contribute to the implementation of government security policies and support the Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) process.
- Meet NIST 800-53 compliance requirements to achieve IATT or ATO status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-10 years of experience in a related IT field, with a focus on security.
- Solid understanding of security principles, network protocols, and operating systems.
- Experience with security monitoring tools and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with government security policies and standards (e.g., NIST 800-53).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Level 2: Cybersecurity Engineer - Senior
As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will take a leading role in designing, implementing, and managing our security infrastructure. You will conduct advanced security assessments, lead incident response efforts, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Enterprise and Systems Architecture activities, documenting "as-is" architectures to support informed decision-making for future capabilities and lead the design of secure target architectures.
- Oversee the capture of system requirements in official repositories and lead the design of secure solutions for IT systems and network infrastructures.
- Lead and manage security monitoring activities, deploying relevant security applications and developing custom rules and alerts.
- Conduct advanced risk and vulnerability assessments and develop controls for operational risk mitigation, including recommending and implementing security tools and technologies.
- Coordinate security protocols for architectures, firewalls, and network access, and lead the evaluation of new security technologies to strengthen defenses.
- Oversee vulnerability scans using COTS and GOTS tools and manage remediation actions, ensuring timely and effective resolution of vulnerabilities.
- Lead the implementation of government security policies and support the Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) process, ensuring systems meet NIST 800-53 compliance requirements to achieve IATT or ATO status.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10-16 years of experience in a related IT field, with a strong focus on security.
- In-depth knowledge of security principles, network protocols, and operating systems.
- Extensive experience with security monitoring tools, vulnerability assessment methodologies, and incident response procedures.
- Strong understanding of government security policies and standards (e.g., NIST 800-53).
- Proven ability to lead and manage security projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Level 3: Cybersecurity Engineer - Subject Matter Expert (SME)
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be a recognized authority in cybersecurity. You will provide strategic guidance, technical leadership, and mentorship to the entire team. You will be responsible for driving innovation and ensuring our security posture aligns with industry best practices and evolving threat landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership on all aspects of cybersecurity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex security-related issues.
- Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend their adoption within the organization.
- Develop and implement security strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead complex security investigations and incident response efforts.
- Oversee the design and implementation of security architectures for new and existing systems.
- Mentor and coach senior team members.
- Participate in industry events and contribute to the cybersecurity community.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 16+ years of experience in a related IT field, with a significant focus on security.
- Expert-level knowledge of security principles, network protocols, and operating systems.
- Extensive experience with security monitoring tools, vulnerability assessment methodologies, incident response procedures, and security architecture design.
- Deep understanding of government security policies and standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FedRAMP).
- Proven ability to lead and innovate in a security-centric environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Active participation in the cybersecurity community (e.g., publications, presentations).
This position is located in Omaha, NE. The estimated salary range for these positions are:
Mid - $90,000.00 - $125,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset
Senior - $130,000.00 - $150,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset
SME - $150,000.00 - $180,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset
