The Basics

At Tanium, our AI Interaction Engineers play a crucial role in working with customers, product teams, and engineering to develop strategies for AI agents to handle various IT operations and security tasks. They ensure success by utilizing AI and best practices to optimize Tanium’s solutions. AI Interaction Engineers work in a collaborative team environment, bridging the gap between customer needs and product capabilities, ensuring AI agents effectively perform IT operations and security tasks. As technical experts, they facilitate seamless integration and functionality across various platforms and continuously enhance customer environments to maximize the value of Tanium’s offerings. 

 What you'll do 

  • Develop strategies for AI agents to handle IT operations and Risk & Compliance tasks. 
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert in specific domains such as patch management, software management, risk and compliance, endpoint performance, or digital employee experience.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and tailor AI solutions for optimal implementation.
  • Provide continuous feedback to improve AI agent functionality and effectiveness through QA testing.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met and product capabilities are aligned.
  • Serve as a technical expert, focusing on building, testing, and troubleshooting AI solutions. 

We're looking for someone with

Education 

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar experience a plus 

Experience and Skills  

Must Have 

  • 5 – 8 years in the industry with solid technical skills in multiple areas such as networking, security, operations, scripting, and/or programming.
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical domains: Endpoint Security, Endpoint Support/ Troubleshooting, Incident Response, Systems Management, Utility Scripting (bash, PowerShell, VBScript, Python.).
  • Experience with various AI tools or models, including ChatGPT, Claude, Bedrock.
  • Has experience interfacing with customers.
  • Ability to master new concepts and technologies; continually striving to master the Tanium platform and modules.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving can break problems down into manageable, ordered piece parts and successfully convey the problem statement and plan to others.
  • Proficient at enterprise-level troubleshooting.
  • Good Judgement: weighs the cost and value to take the action most appropriately aligned with the Tanium and the mission with little direction.
  • Independent; can work on most complex problems; should be able to complete tasks that are not well documented with limited assistance; participate in projects specific to their current skills only requiring help on more complex initiatives or issues.
  • Influencing; demonstrate strong influence skills, working effectively with the team and customers to present logical and compelling arguments to enhance innovation and efficiencies. 

Good to Have:

  • Hands-on Tanium experience
  • Relevant technical certifications (Google IT Support Professional Certificate, CISSP, MCSE, A+/Security+/Network+ combined, etc.)

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $270,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.

In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package consisting of medical, dental and vision plan, family planning benefits, health savings account, flexible spending account, transportation savings account, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, life, accident and disability coverage, business travel accident insurance, employee assistance programs, disability insurance, and other well-being benefits.
