Sr. Cyber Security Engineer-Cloud & Zero Trust

Core Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure network architectures, ensuring segmentation and zero-trust principles.
• Advance zero-trust initiatives and manage device posture, network monitoring, and identity solutions.
• Collaborate with other IT and security teams to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
• Work across business and IT teams to define security requirements for Active Directory & Azure AD integrations.
• Collaborate with security operations and incident response teams to help analyze, contain, and coordinate elements of security incidents.

Experience and Qualifications
 

• Excellent understanding of common cybersecurity organizational practices, operations risk management processes, architectural requirements, and vulnerability risk.
• Deep understanding of hybrid cloud environments, including both on-premises and cloud server, storage, and networking technologies.
• Expertise in secure cloud architecture and cloud security best practices (Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of zero trust principles and experience implementing network segmentation strategies in hybrid cloud environments.
• 3+ years’ experience engineering security solutions in AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Landing Zones, Active Directory w/SSO integration, EntraID / SAML integration.
• Extensive familiarity with Azure Conditional Access policies, and how to apply best practice to secure access to Azure / Office 365 services.
• Demonstrated Azure AD security design skills, solutions delivery, and decision making, incorporating sound security principles and emerging technologies to design and implement enterprise security solutions.
• Manage and secure cloud network infrastructures, focusing on VPC configurations, security group policies, and network access controls in AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with / exposure to leading security solutions in endpoint, network, zero-trust, data protection, vulnerability management, cloud security realms.  
• Experience with systems administration, IT infrastructure, and network management.
• Familiarity with governing security and regulatory frameworks. (PCI, ISO 27000 series, NIST 800-53, HIPAA, HITRUST)

Preferred Skills / Experience / Certifications:

• Microsoft Azure / AWS Security Certifications preferred but not required.
• Experience with M&A / multi-organizational environments.
• Operating experience in a large organization (10,000+ employees)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
• Knowledge of Zero Trust security models and micro-segmentation principles

This is an exempt position. The base compensation range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000.  At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.  The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan.
