Compliance & Data Privacy Manager

Overview Compliance and Data Privacy Manager will support the Head of Risk & Compliance, in implementing, monitoring, and enhancing the Group Risk Management Framework. Compliance and Data Privacy Manager will advise and support the business to meet their regulatory obligations, in relation to processes, systems and controls, for regulatory and legislative changes within Compliance and Data Privacy. Regular engagement with operational staff and working collaboratively with second line functions, including those across the wider Group. Requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively in a busy, complex environment with competing priorities.  Oversee identifying areas for improvement and support continuous improvements across the business to minimise risk and to ensure changing business/industry trends are understood and regulatory compliance is maintained. 
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus 

• Deputise for the Head of Risk & Compliance as required. 
• Support the development, implementation monitoring, and enhancing the Risk frameworks in the Corporate Markets and Retirement Solutions divisions, across both India Hub (Operations) and MUFG InTime businesses.
• Assist with embedding the Group Risk Appetite Statement, including Data Privacy obligations.

Operational Management

• Support development and execution of compliance monitoring and assurance plan.
• Maintain regular engagement with key business and senior stakeholders on compliance/data privacy breaches and incidents; facilitation of root cause analysis.
• Support review and updates of policy and procedures.
• Manage compliance monitoring reporting and MI.
• Interpretation of regulatory and data privacy obligations to key business and senior stakeholders.
• Oversee and support identification of regulatory change and project implementation.
• Support input into the delivery of regular reporting to governance committees.
• Support business and Head of Risk & Compliance with Regulatory responses.
• Embed & promote strong sustainable risk/compliance practices throughout team and organisation.

Governance & Risk 

• Ensure the Group Risk framework is implemented, including execution and monitoring of legislative and regulatory obligations.
• Review of Compliance and Data Privacy policies and procedures.
• Ensure the business is compliant in meeting their regulatory requirements. Support 1LoD effective management of Compliance environment.

Experience & Personal Attributes

• 7+ years of financial services experience with minimum 5+ years’ experience in Compliance.
• Sound understanding and of regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and organisation skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion in performing duties
• Resilience, adaptability, energy, authenticity, and openness.
• Experience operating in a regulated environment would be beneficial.
