Job Description:

Details of the Division and Team:    

As the Head of Securities Services, Hong Kong,  she/he is expected to manage the day-to-day provision of the Securities Services products and services, to the institutional clients of Deutsche Bank. In addition, she/he is expected the manage and provide guidance to the team, take full ownership on P&L respnsibiity including delivering on yearly assigned revenue and cost budget and business driver attributions, outline and deliver on strategic initiatives that will lead to incremental growth and expand market share of DB in Hong Kong, and effective management of  stakeholder relationships- both internal and external, to increase the overall profile of SeS in Hong Kong.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the Bank’s values and beliefs are upheld at all times.

  • Recognize and effective management of direct and contingent risks in acoordance to bank’s internal and regulatory guidelines

  • Outline and execute strategic direction to the Securities Services business in line with global / regional objectives and impelements respective plans

  • Deliver on yearly assigned revenue, cost and driver targets, and key performance indicators as they are assigned to measure the progress of the business

  • Achieve financial success through budget planning and management of the P&L; identify and remediate potential financial, operational and regulatory risks that could have direct or indirect financial implications to the bank

  • Marketing of Securities Services products, including participation in client pitches and pricing discussion in partnership with the Securities Services Sales team in country and in the region

  • Work in close concert with Product, Operations and Technology to address potential product or service gaps to address client, market and regulatory requirements

  • Create an effective client management framework and team roles and responsibilities including performance measurement metrics

  • As a senior business leader, proactively represent the Bank in matters involving securities market, including participation in Trust Association as a representative, actitive participantation and representation in industry forums, engagement with local regulators, stock exchange and central depositor

  • Supports the development of an environment where people development is the number one priority. Mentoring of direct/indirect reports in the organisation, as appropriate

  • Actively supports shared DB values and adhere to code of conduct

  • Takes ownership in career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal learning to enhance on the job capability and improved performance

  • Acts as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment

  • Take tough people decisions to ensure people performance is aligned with organisation imperatives and needs. Addresses individual performance issues, where necessary, to drive for high performance

  • Manage, guide, and grow the team, including nurture and groom high performers, and coaching of the junior staff and underperformers with alignment to set KPIs and expectations

Your skills and experience:

  • For Director 20 years of Custody experience

  • For VP 10+ years of Custody experience.

  • Custody and Fund services product knowledge

  • Fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese and English

  • Understand and able to manage regulatory, market, business and operational related risks

  • In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong & China Securities Services market and regulatory guidelines and requirements

  • Prior experience in building and managing a team.

  • Business development and strategy mindset and experience; thought leadership

  • Stakeholder management- ability to converse clearly and succinctly on strategic related discussions and asks; ability to effectively build consensus

  • Aptitude in interpreting and explaining financial trackers and deliverables

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • Finance or business management related degree/qualifications are preferred.

  • Financial industry qualification or certification- CFA/Fund Industy certifications
