We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to support IT modernization initiatives for a federal customer. The ideal candidate will drive enterprise architecture strategy, cloud migration, and system modernization efforts using agile methodologies and human-centered design (HCD).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement scalable, secure, and flexible architectures to modernize legacy systems.
Lead cloud migration efforts leveraging AWS for scalability, availability, and reliability.
Support DevSecOps integration within agile development teams (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
Architect COTS/SaaS integrations, ensuring seamless configuration and customization to meet mission objectives.
Ensure compliance with zero trust security principles and federal IT security regulations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical risks and conflicts, ensuring smooth project execution.
Optimize applications for on-demand release cycles while maintaining system reliability.
Provide technical oversight for AI/ML-driven predictive modeling, business intelligence, and data analytics.
Qualifications:
A B.S. Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
10+ years of experience in solution architecture, cloud transformation, and IT modernization.
Expertise in AWS cloud services, including serverless computing, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud-native applications.
Hands-on experience with enterprise data migration, system integration, and microservices architecture.
Strong understanding of agile software development, human-centered design, and usability best practices.
Experience with federal IT security frameworks, compliance (FISMA, NIST), and zero trust architecture.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and IT relationship management skills.
US Web Design System (USWDS) experience is a plus.
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and cloud-based architectures (AWS preferred)
Work Environment:
Fully remote with occasional in-person meetings in Washington, D.C.
Schedule is based on Eastern Time Monday through Friday with Holidays off
This job is for a contract proposal that is expected to be awarded in June 2025.
