Purpose
In support of the Vulnerability Management Operations Team global mandate as it pertains to the Scotiabank Group, subsidiaries, affiliates, and strategic alliance partners as well as to ensure the protection and integrity of Bank information and assets, under general direction, performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction by scanning servers and databases for compliance.
Accountability
- Experience working with data from various sources and presenting it to Senior Leadership Teams for easy interpretation. Connecting to multiple databases and running multiple queries to gain further insights.
- Lead the remediation of vulnerabilities using a variety of tools across a diverse infrastructure.
- Manage the prioritization of those vulnerabilities through risk-based approach.
- Lead Triage and prioritization of vulnerabilities and support the life cycle of vulnerability management, providing advice on ways to improve control mechanisms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage and report on vulnerabilities and undertake remediation activities.
- Communicate and maintain comprehensive documentation of vulnerabilities, remediation efforts and security configurations.
- Track and monitor the effectiveness of remediation efforts.
- Manage and prioritize your time effectively to deliver agreed projects on time.
- Attend Calls and provide input with other Business units as required.
- Express a willingness to learn more in the role and collaborate with external teams.
- Working with and gathering requested information from other Business Lines of operations.
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Be willing to accept and action additional tasks assigned by the Manager.

Dimensions
- The Vulnerability Management Operations department consist of 22 members.
- The Vulnerability Management Operation Team consist of 6 members.
- Team supports global operations but based in Canada, Peru & Colombia
- We adhere to the Bank of Nova Scotia standards for remediation and meeting agreed SLA’s on many applications supported by the various Business Lines.
Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)
- Intermediate Python programming fundamental skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI data visualization.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel / Visio / Word to create documentation.
- Demonstrated expertise in scripting and automation.
- Excellent (Oral & Written) communication skills and interpersonal skills for internal discussions with other teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proactive thinking.
- Must be able to multitask and provide ad-hoc reporting and information on very short notice to stakeholders.
- Be positive, highly motivated, organized, and proactive to achieve results.
- Strong understanding of inspecting, cleaning, transforming and modeling data to uncover meaningful insights.
