Job Description

The Network Security Senior Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and engineering the tools and processes used to protect, detect, and respond to a wide array of information risks as they pertain to network infrastructure within the company, ensuring that these tools and processes enable the business to achieve its goals of IT service advancement and innovation while at the same time providing a high level of cybersecurity protection. 

The position is responsible for all aspects of network security starting from an understanding of the business drivers and requirements, network security and segmentation concepts in various areas (such as Identity, Network, Data and Application), network security and segmentation solution architectures and approaches, engineering and deployment, and continuous ongoing improvements. 

The position will be part of the Information Technology Risk Management & Security (ITRMS) Team and will work closely with the Business Information Risk Liaisons and the rest of the Information Technology organization to prioritize and address emerging risks.

 Key areas of focus include:

Direct the design, development, and deployment of network security controls to protect our Company's critical applications and information while ensuring compliance with our Company’s corporate security policies and regulatory/legal requirements.

Coordinate with other IT and Business organizations in collaboration with the ITRMS Information Risk Liaisons to understand the risk appetite of the organization and how that would enable network security and segmentation approaches in key areas

Work closely with the ITRMS and Technology Infrastructures Operations & Experience (TIOE) stakeholders to ensure network security solutions are implemented into our Company’s global infrastructure including zero trust, cloud services, mobility solutions, unified communications, next generation networks, email/messaging systems, endpoints and directory services and that these services are protected from data loss or disruption.

Collaborate with vendors, partners and standards setting bodies to define and communicate requirements.

Collaborate with IT Infrastructure leaders to ensure network security technologies are properly configured and Integrated into the infrastructure.  

Provide detailed direction and designs for ensuring network security controls operating across the enterprise (end to end) are properly deployed and producing data to support the risk management function.

Focus areas for the role will be with Tufin Security Policy Management, firewall hygiene and policy automation.  Additional focus will be with projects, support and risk governance for all other technologies supported by the Network Security team.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Must be an expert in network security

  • Must be an expert with Tufin Security Policy Management and integrations

  • Must be knowledgeable of firewall hygiene and automation technologies

  • Must be knowledgeable of Zero Trust principles

  • Must have an intermediate skillset with cloud security and cloud technologies

  • Must be a team player capable of influencing others

  • Must be capable of rapid and disciplined decision-making

  • Need to take ownership of projects and deliverables

  • Effective collaboration with stakeholders

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an information technology field.

  • Minimum of 5 years working as a network security engineer or information security engineer.

  • Thorough understanding of the latest network security technologies, principles, and protocols.

  • Experience with architecture of a global LAN/WAN, data center and cloud.

  • Solid leadership & collaboration skills, able to collaborate with colleagues in both domestic and international locations.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • CISSP/CISM Certification, or other networking security certifications

  • Experience with Tufin Security Policy Management and integrations

  • Experience with Zero Trust solutions and approaches

  • Familiarity with OT Security

  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical company or other highly regulated environment

  • Experience working in a multinational corporation
