Senior Software Engineer - Cyber Security

Calix is hiring Senior Software Engineers to join their Threat Intelligence team in Bangalore. The successful candidates will be responsible for building backend automation scripts in Python to support the Threat Intelligence lab infrastructure. Additionally, they will enhance threat detection capabilities through various automation processes. This role offers an opportunity to work on innovative projects in cyber security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop backend Python automation scripts for cybersecurity workflows, including web scraping, crawling, and data collection.
• Manage databases for efficient storage, retrieval, and handling of threat intelligence data.
• Deploy and write monitoring and analysis scripts for Decoy systems to detect and document malicious activity.
• Parse operating system logs, extract relevant artifacts, and write correlation logic to identify and analyze threat patterns.
• Maintain and manage codebases in Git, ensuring version control, collaboration, and thorough documentation.
• Automate the extraction of artifacts from network traffic and operating system logs for in-depth forensic analysis.
• Research and implement innovative automation techniques to enhance threat detection and incident response capabilities.
• Convert data between different formats to support seamless integration and analysis workflows.
• Document processes and scripts comprehensively while generating reports on system performance and threat detection outcomes.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in Python Backend development.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Expertise handling SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience on working with various data streams like, CSV, XML, HTML,YAML, Binary, etc.
• Write test cases and unit test your code.
• Experience with Agile development and DevOps/CI-CD practices.
• Experience working in Cyber Security domain and Data Science would be a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• India – (Flexible hybrid work model - work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter)
