Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.

The Cyber Operations & Resiliency Department (CORD) focusses on providing cyber engineering support to a variety of US National Security Systems (NSS) cybersecurity capabilities.  CORD personnel provide the Aerospace corporation with a staff of cybersecurity engineers for meeting customers’ real-time/operational cybersecurity needs and this position is focused specifically on the collection of, processing, analysis of cybersecurity data as well as applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) technologies within the cybersecurity realm.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, offering a hybrid work model that combines a minimum of 3-4 regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as the business needs allow. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll be supporting the development capabilities related to acquiring and analyzing cybersecurity data and use the resulting analysis to enhance the cybersecurity of Space (Government and Commercially owned) associated assets as well as US National Security Systems (NSS)

  • You’ll be supporting other departments within the company and/or other Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) entities to research and develop advanced approaches to data mining Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) both within the open-source and classified realms

  • You’ll be supporting the application of CTI to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with the goal of identifying a given system’s greatest cyber risk exposures as well as the most efficient means of mitigating those exposures

  • The applicant will need to Engage with Impact, Foster Innovation, and Deliver Results in environments that entail significant technical challenges and require the development/discovery of novel approaches

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable STEM area pursuing or conferred within last 12 months.

  • 0-1 year of industry experience

  • Working knowledge and/or academic experience within the realm of data analytics, MBSE, data mining, programming in languages such as Python, SQL, SysML, MATLAB, C/C++, Java, HTML, etc.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically/internationally at a rate of up to 2 times a month

  • his position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. 

  • Transcripts required.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of the following:

  • Advanced degree

  • Work/college-project experience applying MBSE tools and/or MATLAB projects to either “real-world” or college course projects

  • Knowledge with acquiring, processing, understanding, and analyzing cybersecurity relevant data (e.g., logs, PCAP data, cyber tool alerts, network traffic analysis, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Large Language Models, and other advanced data analytics technologies

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
