Your Role 

As a Security Analyst you will be an integral member of a cybersecurity operation team, working with highly skilled Security Engineers to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Gensler data and information systems. 

What You Will Do 

  •  Identify and resolve cybersecurity threats to the global firm as well as strive to protect the firm from anticipated threats. 

  • Develop metrics from existing cybersecurity toolsets to identify strengths, as well as areas for improvement to a comprehensive information security managements system 

  • Work with a team of security experts to advance a nonconventional approach to security operations, while developing into more broad and senior roles and responsibilities. 

  • Not just a “ticket cruncher”, your work with Gensler’s trouble ticket system will be bidirectional as you review security processes and work with the support desk to design new, automated, efficient processes within an ITIL, CIS CSC, SOC2, CMMC, or ISO 27001 security frameworks 

  • Additional tasks as required 

Your Qualifications 

 

An employee-owned company, Gensler is social, collaborative and entrepreneurial - authority comes from the team, not a given individual. Our top candidate will have strong social and communication skills, a collaborative attitude and demonstrate strong technical acumen. 

 

Required: 

  • BA/BS Information Technology, Computer Science; or Business (with a minor in I.T./I.S.) 

  • 1 cybersecurity entry level certification or equivalent college security courses 

  • Examples: ISC2 Associate, ISACA Cyber Essentials, CompTIA Security+, GIAC Fundamentals, or other entry-level security certs. 

 

OR 

  • Bachelor's Degree (Non I.T./I.S. discipline) 

  • 3 years minimum IT/IS experience, preferably in a large, global enterprise.  

  • 1 I.T. certification  

  • Examples: CompTIA, CISCO, ISACA IT Associate, Microsoft Fundamentals, Linux Essentials, other entry-level I.T. certs. 

  • 1 cybersecurity entry-level certification 

 

Gensler has implemented robust security toolsets, and provides significant cybersecurity professional growth opportunities within multiple functional areas, such as:  

  • Email Security Gateways 

  • Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)  

  • Extended Detection Response (XDR)  

  • Vulnerability & Patch Management  

  • Incident Response 

  • Security Operations 

  • Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) 

  • Identity & Access Management (IAM) 

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) 

  • Security Information & Event Management (SIEM

  • Disaster Recovery and Data Backup 

  • Security Awareness Training 

  • Secure Access Service Edge (SASE / CASB) 

 

Non-Technical Requirements: 

  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts and facility work

  • Successful completion of a background check is required, as this person will be managing sensitive business information 

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills in the English language 

  • Comfortable performing systems administration in an open office and social environment 

  • Available 24/7/365 during a security incident in order to collaborate with your team. 

  • Able to work in a Gensler Los Angeles regional office 5 workdays per week 

  • Able to do light work, including the ability to lift 10 lbs with the majority of the day being sitting, standing or walking. 

** Los Angeles, CA; the compensation range is estimated at $76k-$84k plus bonuses and benefits and depending upon experience.
