InfoSec - Security Engineer

We are looking for an Information Security Engineer to join the Information Security Department at Betsson. 

The Information Security Department carries out activities across four main areas, Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Awareness Training, and Incident Response. The role of Security Engineer role is an indispensable role that primarily focuses on Security Operations, which also however merges with aspects of Security Governance, Incident Response, and Security Awareness Training. 

The main duties include but are not limited to  

A taster of what you will be involved with: 

Security Governance (GRC) 

• Assisting the governance team in providing the required technical feedback during the creation/updating of security policies.  

• Participating in Information Security Reviews and Information Security due diligence 

Security Operations (SECOPS) 

• Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments 

• Work with the SOC team in analysing and mitigating threats 

• Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities 

• Assist in ensuring a consistent implementation of our physical security policy across all Betsson properties. 

• Assist in maintaining the upkeep of the Malta offices physical security hardware through supplier contracts and local inhouse support 

• Maintain and fine tune security tools used by the Information Security Department. 

Security Awareness Training (SAT) 

• Getting involved in the execution of the Department’s security awareness programme 

Incident Response (CSIRT) 

• Investigate intrusion incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and mount incident responses with the possible involvement of after-hours availability for support.   

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 

• Minimum: 2 years experience in Information Security 

• Minimum: 3 years of Information Technology experience 

• IT certifications related to security will be considered an asset  

• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
